Rep. David Day Announces Winner of Photo Contest
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. –Rep. David Day, R-Dixon will be featuring the 148th District Photo Contest winner on the front of his District Directory. The winner, Sherri Pierce from Dixon, won for her photo of the Gasconade River.
Rep. Day announced the photo contest with the help of local media and his website. Constituents from around the district sent photos to his office. This is the first time Day has held this contest and it is believed the first time in the district.
“It is a great way for citizens of the 148th District to show off our wonderful area and their skills with a camera,” said Day. “We had some great photos submitted and I know the judges had a difficult time picking a winner out of so many wonderful shots. They told me that Sherri’s photo was picked because it shows some of the natural beauty of the area. I am proud to represent such a beautiful place and wonderful people.”
When informed that she had the winning photo, Sherri said, "Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this contest. I am excited that my photo was selected. I think Yellow Bluff is a great representation for the district." She also said that her family loves the beautiful scenery found throughout this area.
The winning photo was taken at the end of Highway Y, from Riddle Bridge. It is a photo of the Gasconade River. Photos were judged by individuals that live outside of the 148th District. The District Directory will be sent out this fall.
